Back in December of 2024 I network enabled Brian's old serial relay box which I've always called Realy4 as that was the name on it's source code. Anyway back in December of 24 I decided that I should make some more relay boxes out of the relay board's that I had bought for other projects but had never used.
By the time I gathered parts and started building it was January of 26 and I finished the last one by the end of May 26. I built 2 x 4 channel boxen and 1 x 8 channel.
They are very simple builds, 99% wiring and enclosure. All the boards are able to run tasmota and directly integrate with home assistant.
So flash the firmware, chuck it in a box, 240v wiring, fuse the input for safety, labeling, done. Still took me ages to get around to.
Happy with the results. The 8 channel is embedded into the studio. One 4 channel is floating in the studio available for more temporary requirements and the other 4 channel on my desk at home freeing up a bunch of individual wifi power switches.
Studio/workshop now has something like 18 channels of 240V switching, which seems like a good amount for a geek den. The home assistant dashboard is getting fun.
