So in the same week GitHub Copilot removed access to Claude Opus from Copilot Pro (individual user) and paused new signups, Anthropic is apparently "testing" removing Claude Code from the Pro subscription tier.
Changes to GitHub Copilot Individual plans
Claude Code to be removed from Anthropic's Pro plan?
Seems pretty obvious that increasingly long running agentic use cases means they (Microsoft/Anthropic) don't have the capacity to meet the demand. Also enterprise sales have been growing fast so it only makes sense that its the individuals that are going to get the harder stick.
I'm expecting in general access to LLM's is going to to get more expensive and restrictive, at least for the US frontier models.
Also the z.ai coding subscription that I just signed up for has almost doubled in price from $10 to $18 per month for the lite plan. Should have snapped up the yearly for $84 when I had the chance.
Shit moving quickly as is the new normal.
So just as I'm getting around to post this The Verge posted a peice on the same topic.
